Here at "The Wall", we believes that an individual can overcome homelessness and succeed if they only had the support and tools they need.
We give support through educating, hiring, and giving a voice to individuals experiencing homelessness
We print stories that can be a guide for them to succeed, something many of them have never had before.
Welcome
Welcome to the website for The Wall, a newspaper created for and with the homeless. The Bonner Center for Civic and Community Engagement at The College of New Jersey has partnered with the Mercer Alliance to End Homelessness, the Rescue Mission of Trenton and the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen to produce the newspaper several times each year.
Many homeless individuals do not know of the services that are available to them. In addition, there are few opportunities that empower them or allow them to have a voice. At the same time, a decent proportion of the general public holds a stereo-typical image of homeless men and women. The Bonner project aims to target all three of these issues.
